NaPoWriMo Poetry Challenge Day 17…

Today’s NaPoWriMo poetry challenge asks us to write a poem specifically describing something using at least three of the five senses.

Here is my Sensory Poem  😀

“A Sweet Treat”

The sizzle of them in the pan

is music to my ears.

The smell teases my nose with it’s sweet scent

like bananas and caramelised pears.

They’re golden yellow with a bit of brown:

that’s when they’re best to eat.

That first bite into a fried plantain

on the tongue is such a treat!

  1. I’ve never had friend plantain before, but after reading this, I’m totally sold on them! You did an excellent job in tying all the senses together to create such a vivid experience. I especially liked how you described them sizzling in the pan as music to your ears! 🙂
