As I sit in front of the unlit fireplace,
I sip on my jasmine green tea.
My thoughts occupy another space
And through my mind’s eye I see.
I see myself as only a girl
With a head full of goals and dreams;
I made plans to travel the world
And rip the cloak of fear by its seams.
I smile while I have these reflections,
I’ve checked a lot off of my list.
My winter’s day recollections
Fade away like my tea kettle’s mist.
