NaPoWriMo is a daily poetry challenge which runs from the 1st of April to the 30th April every year. This is my third year attempting to use this month to sharpen my poetry skills due to the challenges and inspiration given.

I’m a day late but will still attempt to catch up and complete the daily prompts for April 2017. I haven’t written any poetry in a good while so this will be interesting.
The first day’s prompt: “In honor of today’s interviewee, I’d like to challenge you to write a Kay-Ryan-esque poem: short, tight lines, rhymes interwoven throughout, maybe an animal or two, and, if you can manage to stuff it in, a sharp little philosophical conclusion.”
on the throne;
as I hone
in on my truth.
Amidst the hocus pocus
where there is no vision
the people perish.
