Welcome back to my blog and to day two of the NaPoWriMo/GloPoWriMo poetry challenge.
**For those who don’t know what NaPoWriMo is: http://www.napowrimo.net/
I’m going to jump right into today’s prompt:
“…write a poem inspired by, or in the form of, a recipe! It can be a recipe for something real, like your grandmother’s lemon chiffon cake, or for something imaginary, like a love potion or a spell.”
A recipe for love
Take two tablespoons of understanding
and add to three pounds of compromise.
Mix gently with five cups of love.
When feelings appear smooth,
whisk briskly with a dollop of laughter
to get rid of any negativity bubbles.
Then, add a dozen sprinkles of humour.
When the heart starts swelling with happiness,
test with mild pressure to make sure it’s firm.
If it withstands the pressure, it’s ready.
Gently place it in the hands of your loved one.
Best served warm.
